My name is Donny Mutt. The reason I started this blog is to focus on the guitar and bass playing in hardcore/punk bands. I would like to use this blog to interview guitarists and bassists about their lives and experiences in the hardcore/punk scene, and to transcribe classic hardcore/punk songs for bass guitar.
I have been playing guitar in hardcore/punk bands for the better part of the last 10 years. Over the years I have played guitar for the following bands: Crumbler, One Up, Intention, Standstill, Public Urination, Lye and Stalemate.
At one time or another I have filled in for the following bands on bass guitar: Blacklisted, Carry On, Damage II and Bottom Line NYC. I even played bass guitar in One Up for the last year we were a band.
Before I started playing guitar in hardcore bands I wrote a fanzine titled Cut The Tension. Cut The Tension Fanzine was a print-based zine that focused on hardcore/punk music from 2000 to 2004. There were 6 issues of Cut The Tension printed and they are all currently out of print.
